Adam, seems that I have to use third party applications to enhance the feature set, I get it all with one Citrix connection license. Just saying..

It's true that VMware View used RDP only for Mac (no PCoIP client for Mac OS). However, it is still possible to get improved performance by using VMware View with Ericom Blaze, a software-based RDP acceleration and compression product that provides improved performance for remote users. Besides delivering higher frame rates and reducing screen freezes and choppiness, Blaze accelerates RDP performance by up to 25 times, while significantly reducing network bandwidth consumption especially over low-bandwidth/high latency connections.

You can use VMware View with PCoIP for PC users, and at the same time use VMware View with Blaze over RDP for Mac users.

This setting exists and requires the domain level to be set to 2008 or higher I believe:

Enable asynchronous Group Policy processing

Synchronous Group Policy processing may significantly decrease logon performance, thus it is recommended to configure the following policy:
“Allow asynchronous user Group Policy processing when logging on through Remote Desktop Services”
It is found under Computer Configuration->Policies->Admin Templates->System->Group Policy

Check out this link for more information:

I do not see this setting in our GPO.

Computer Configuration->Policies->Admin Templates->System->Group Policy-> “Allow asynchronous user Group Policy processing when logging on through Remote Desktop Services”

We have w2k8 R2 standard

Yes, the bullet above indicates XenApp is included with Xendesktop Enterprise which indirectly indicates Citrix XenApp Streaming is included. But good point!

"•View includes ThinApp for application distribution (Premier license)"

Doesn't XenApp Streaming enable application distribution? It makes it self-service too.

You my friend are my new hero! I ran up against this at a client site, and for the life of me could not figure it out until I ran across this blog. This specific error is not documented ANYWHERE else that I could find.
